I'm a professor at Chaffey College, and have made a request to our Information Tech Services department that the DNRGarmin software that we'd installed on our computers in the zoology lab remains there. Its indicated that we'd need permission from the publisher to do so; that, even for free downloads, institutions require permissions that individuals do not. Please either provide the permission I am requesting, or direct me to the information I need to make a proper request for such permission.

When I save way-points in a shape-file, DNRGarmin is automatically saving in 3D type. I need 2D. I don't get the mask where you chose points, lines, ploys, etc. How can I save them in 2D?

Unfortunately, the DNRGarmin application doesn't allow you to save the files in 2D format, but you can use ArcGIS for Desktop to convert them from 3D to 2D. Once you download its trial version, follow the instructions from the official web page. You will need to use ArcMap, an ArcGIS module.
